Well, it wasn’t entirely impromptu. We went down to see Andrew’s parents to celebrate for Father’s Day this evening. In addition to the Father’s Day festivities (and me and Johnny dressing alike…should have taken a picture), we also had a belated celebration for my birthday and our anniversary. I wasn’t expecting that at all so it was a nice surprise. Also, there was a Fudgie the Whale cake which is always a win!
Since the first anniversary is the paper anniversary, Andrew’s parents gave us a collection of paper napkins. We are now equipped to host your birthday/anniversary/Fourth of July/ summer picnic/Valentine’s Day celebrations! (Also, that picture looks like it should be a puzzle picture.)
It was a very fun evening, and it capped off a pretty good day. After morning derby (although one of my leaguemates broke her leg which was not so good), I came home, had a good lunch, took a nap, and made some cake. It’s a three day week for me this week as the end of the week I’m going to be in New Jersey for wedding prep with Melissa. This was definitely a good foot to start the week off though!
