Statue of Liberty

(279/366)

After a lovely evening at Jen and Evan’s (thanks again for putting up with us and letting us stay over!) we decided to do a little sightseeing while we were in the city. It was predictably dreary out but we decided to head for the Statue of Liberty anyways. Unfortunately, the clouds, mist, and fog over the city resulted in some pretty uninteresting photos of the day.

Love Us Some Audio Tours

Luckily, there was an audiotour. If you’ve ever traveled with me, you know I’m a sucker for a good audiotour. This one wasn’t bad and gave us something to listen to while we walked around the Lady Liberty.

After a quick stop at Ellis Island and an surprisingly uninteresting lunch, we hopped back in our car and started heading south. On the way we decided to stop at the Medoways, because, well, the Medoways are awesome. They were also nice enough to let us randomly pop in and even made us an amazing dinner! It was a great little break in our drive home.

We returned the car and unpacked our tiny amount of stuff. It’s nice to be home. We have one more free day (and nice weather!) tomorrow to do some exploring, so we might be tourists in our own city. This vacation did not turn out how I expected, but it’s still been pretty fun.
