This morning we all piled into the car and took what was a surprisingly short trip up to Gettysburg. Only Andrew had been there before and I don’t think any of us knew what to expect. Well, seven hours later, I would say our trip was a success!
Since I grew up going to Massachusetts public schools and we learn little history after the Revolutionary War, I really didn’t know much about Gettysburg. Well, after a movie, the museum, and a 2.5 hour audio tour (I love audio tours!) of the battlefields, I’ve got a much better grasp on it all.
Today was a beautiful day to explore Gettysburg. It was warm and sunny and the place wasn’t too crowded. We spent all afternoon there and left just as it was turning to dusk. I’m so glad we went. It was totally worth the trip up there and I would highly recommend it!
