Things Not to Do While Cutting Weight(40/366)

As you may know, I do taekwondo. Most of the time it’s with little kids. But every so often, I get to fight people my own age and size. And sometimes I win (against the people my own age and size)!

Well, I have a tournament coming up and I’m trying to fight in a specific weight class. Which means I had to drop a few pounds. Or maybe more than a few. I started a few weeks ago and it’s been going pretty well, but we’re reaching crunch time here. I’ve been on a low-carb, high protein diet which is sad for me because I love bread.

Of course, I’ve also been trying to eat less. While I normally could down an entire bag of gummi bears, I’m trying to show some restraint. Also, eating less translates to being hungry more. So what better thing to do, than read cooking magazines? Worst idea ever. I now want nachos, pizza, fried chicken, waffles, chili, and pretty much something on every other page of those magazines.

But tomorrow is the big weigh-in and I’m about ready to go. Afterwards I’m coming home and we’re having cheesy bread.

I’m trying to compete in the weight class below the one I did last year so I don’t get demolished in the World Class division.
