Poppy Seed Filling(64/366)

I’m making hamantaschen. Can you tell what my favorite flavor is? I stocked up poppy filling this year, because no matter how many I make, I always wish I had more. Do you think five jars will be enough? Maybe I should have gotten a few more…

Purim is coming up this week! It’s a great holiday, and at my temple, it culminates with a big Purim Shpiel production. I’m the stage manager/official baker for the shpiel, so I’ve got a bit on my plate this week. It’s such a fun event though, and I’ve met a ton of awesome people through it. It’s one of the highlights of my year.

As an aside, one of the little girls in the play recently applied to an engineering camp. Apparently she had to write an essay about why she wanted to learn about engineering. You know what her response was? She wanted to learn how to booby-trap her room to prevent her little sisters from entering. If I was on that admission committee, that girl would be admitted in a heartbeat! I hope there are more 8 year-olds like her around. It gives me hope.

  1. Love Mohn hamantaschen. Also love flomen (prunes). Can’t go wromg with cherry or blueberry.

We are coming down next week. I think Eunice is going to contact you about that.
