52 Weeks – Week 8

Vanilla ice cream with fresh strawberries and chocolate chips might be one of my favorite desserts.

Week 8

I made red velvet whoopie pies for the bake sale at our bout over the weekend that got cancelled. This may be one of the few things I’ve baked that Andrew didn’t like. He hates cream cheese icing and these were filled with a cream cheese marshmallow filling.

We had team time in preparation for the bout and Bruisie’s cat makes the most sad/mad faces.

Since our bout was cancelled and we were pretty much snowed in, I took it as an opportunity to do some cooking. First I made sweet and sour meatballs.

Week 8

Later that night I made Korean fried chicken, similar to BonChon. It was gooood.

Week 8

It was Elise’s birthday last week so I made her a leather laptop case. It was all handmade. Hand sewing leather is actually pretty relaxing.

Week 8

Here’s the inside of the case.

Week 8

On Monday I flew out to Berkeley for work. My flight got delayed twice and rescheduled twice which led to me sitting in the airport for a really long time. I read an entire book on my way to Berkeley.

Week 8

It always amuses me when my rental car is the same as my actual car. This is the second time I’ve gotten a Subaru Outback for a rental. It’s great because it’s familiar, but it also makes me jealous because it’s always a nicer model than the one I own.

Week 8

Our meeting was held on campus and the view getting to the building wasn’t half bad.

Week 8

One night we went out to eat to this Mediterranean restaurant. We were the only customers in the whole place for dinner so they pulled out all the stops. We didn’t even order. The owner just brought us plates and plates of food. She made good choices.

Week 8

I stopped at CREAM and got ice cream sandwiches. Opening a place like this is one of those far-off dreams of mine.

Week 8

Homemade cookies and homemade ice cream custom combos. This one was double chocolate cookies with strawberry cheesecake ice cream.

Week 8

While I was out there I got to see Alex, Courtney, Buster, and Sadie. It was so much fun!

Week 8

Kris tried beets for the first time. She liked them!

Week 8

Seriously, the views. Spectacular.

  1. 1. YOU HAND STITCHED THAT?
    2. I will totally open an ice cream place with you. I’m great at retail. We might need to enlist Pants as our CPA though.
