A Colorful Mess (306/366)

Beautiful Chaos

I’m making cupcakes again. Many many cupcakes. I’m just over six dozen at the moment.

But they’re so pretty! This is one of my favorite cupcake methods. It’s not particularly hard, but it’s a nice surprise when someone bites into them. Plus, they’re so colorful! It makes me happy just looking at them.

All Lined Up

(307/366)

This is what I started with. If I had been really on my game, I would have used a white cake batter, instead of a yellow batter. But I didn’t feel like separating eggs so the yolks went in the batter, but don’t worry, they still turned out awesome.

But first, let’s first talk about that picture. It’s a little bit impressive, right? Not only do we have six bowls in three varying shades of blue, but we have SIX rubber scrapers (or spatulas. I think we got yelled at in sixth grade for calling them spatulas by our home economics teacher (do kids take home ec these days?). Spatulas can be those things you flip pancakes. MUST DIFFERENTIATE.). Not only do we have six rubber scrapers, but they are ALL orange. How’s that for coordination?

Also, turns out we actually have eight rubber scrapers, but the other two are blue. Also, I used all eight of them in tonight’s baking endeavor.

Pretty Colors

Look at what happens when you mix in a bit of food coloring gel? The yellow batter doesn’t matter so much now, eh? I love how vibrant the colors turned out.

Check back tomorrow (or Saturday) to see the finished product!
