Happy New Year!

1/365

Happy 2014 people! I can hardly believe how fast time has flown by. The start of 2013 didn’t seem like all that long ago and yet here we are, a full year later. Just a few things happened in 2013. Andrew and I got married in May, honeymooned in Hawaii, and to close out the year we bought a house. I’m kind of looking forward to a year without huge milestone life events. They’re exciting but I think it will be nice to just relax for a little while.

We kicked off our New Year the same way we did last year. Evan and Jen came over and we made dinner, played some games, and toasted the start of 2014. It was a super fun evening and now that we’re two years in, I think officially the start of a tradition. 2014 is promising to be a big year for Jen and Evan and I’m excited to celebrate all the big milestones that are in store for them in the upcoming year.

Happy New Year!

Our New Year’s Eve dinner was a good one. Andrew painstakingly put together a charcuterie board and I had my first experience with pate. Turns out I do not like pate all that much. Well, it’s not terrible, but not something I’m clamoring to eat anytime soon.

We decided to make homemade pizzas for dinner. Our first pizza was a traditional red pizza with all the fixin’s. The second pizza was more what one would consider a white pizza.

Happy New Year!

We started with a pesto base instead of a red sauce. It was then topped with shredded parmesan cheese, sliced fresh tomatoes, and a sprinkle of freshly chopped garlic. Both pizzas were baked on a pizza stone, which if you have one, I think is definitely worth breaking out.

Also, in case you haven’t figured it out, I’m starting up a new 365 Project. I did it back in 2012 (there are some highlights here) and it’s so cool to be able to look back and everything that happened that year. From the mundane to the once-in-a-lifetime, having everything archived like that is really fun to look back on. Also, after taking a break in 2013, I realized I’m not very good at regularly blogging unless I’m kept accountable. So, here’s my accountability statement:

In 2014 I will try to take a picture everyday for 365 days. I will also make my best effort to blog those pictures daily with something that is possibly worth reading.

I look forward to sharing with you what 2014 will bring! Happy New Year everyone!
