Oomph. Today was quite a day. My day started around nine and was non-stop until 11:30. It was a well choreographed day with carefully planned logistics that actually worked out pretty well.

It started this morning with derby practice. I’m not sure what was going on with me, but today was not my derby day. I was basically a disaster on wheels and when I left early from our scrimmage for my next event I was totally in a foul mood because things just weren’t going my way.

However, my mood quickly changed because next up on today’s agenda was a cupcake decorating class for three girls from my temple. They came over to learn how to make the famous butterfly cupcakes and they were great. I handed them each a piping bag full of colored chocolate and let them have at it. They did a great job!

After stuffing them full of cupcakes and icing, I immediately  moved onto my next event. I spent the next few hours off at temple helping with rehearsals for this year’s Purim Shpiel. I do a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff so today I was working on music, stage setups, and film. Possessing basically no rhythm or desire to stand up in front of a crowd, I’m satisfied with my limited role that gives me a chance to see all the fun stuff without actually having to do it.

Right after rehearsal I made a quick trip home to get Andrew before we headed down to VA for our Sunday night dinner. Jen and Evan are in the homestretch for wedding preparation so we spent a number of hours attaching labels to wedding favors and cutting out place cards. We made some good progress while we were there and Jen made us chili and cornbread for dinner. It was exactly what I needed after this non-stop day. We also watched the Grammy’s and I found out that half the songs I thought came out three years ago actually came out this year and have just been offensively overplayed on the radio.

At this point, I’m struggling to keep my eyes open. Today deserved a better post, but the marathon has to end sometime.
